About Us

What we do

The Southeast Center for Cooperative Development is a Tennessee-based non-profit (IRS designated non-profit status pending) organization working to create living-wage jobs through worker-ownership in all its forms. We provide technical assistance, education and collaboration to individuals and groups interested developing worker-owned cooperatives, as well as businesses converting to employee ownership. We provide these services with the ultimate goal of building a network of mutually supportive cooperatives in Tennessee and eventually throughout the Southeast. Our main commitment is to serving members of underserved and/or low-income communities and communities of color.
